Automated batch wafer handling systems using the most current effective method for moving Solar Cell wafers from transport or wet process cassettes to process Quartz / Silicon Carbide carriers.This system is designed to provide high throughput yet maintaining high yields. The Sonora SVAC systems are configured to batch transfer 25, 50 or 100 wafers at a time.  This system can accommodate 125 mm X 125 mm and 156 mm X 156 mm wafers with little or no tooling change.The index head travels horizontally and vertically.  After the cassettes are placed onto the system the index head will lower down and pick up the wafers using our patented vacuum wand technology.  The wafers are rotated from  square to diamond and then inserted into the process carrier.

The Sedona wafer handling system is designed to transfer wafers from MGI magazines containing wafers in a coin stack configuration, separate one wafer at a time from the stack and place the wafers into plastic cassettes. The system can also reverse the operation and move the wafers from plastic cassettes into a coin stack.This system can also be connected to a cassette indexer for continuous cassette loading. The cassette indexer can be configuredto hold two, three or four cassettes.This system can also be configured with multiple vacuum heads to increase the productivity through put. If the system is configured with two vacuum head, two plastic cassettes are loaded simultaneously

There are wafer stops in-between the first and second stages that will raise and lower to allow the wafers to be shuttled between stages.  Each stage has a set of rollers that are controlled independently, this way stage one and stage two rollers can be activated to move the wafers from the loading stage onto the stand-by stage, then stage two and stage three rollers can be activated to move the wafers from the stand-by stage onto the transfer stage .
